There is often a lot of confusion within film, with buzz words thrown around like true high definition,broadcast read etc etc. Rather than throwing these buzz words at you, we'll add some clarity and explain why we shoot only in High Definition and its benefits.

High definition refers to any resolution above standard definition which is 576 pixels vertically and 720 pixels horizontally - this is what your home TV would deliver if you haven't moved over to HD. As a way of future proofing your production we always shoot in high definition which is over double the resolution of standard definition. The best part of this, is there is no extra cost for shooting in HD as all our equipment is HD ready.

As we're Mac people here at Lilac we run the latest Final Cut Studio suite which has quickly become an industry standard for broadcast. We let your imagination lead the way as we always enjoy the challenge of developing something completely new and innovative.

Our motion graphic offer can be anything from a introductory animation for a Powerpoint presentation to a full "all singing, all dancing" 3D production. We can bring some life to interviews through shooting them on a chroma background (or green screen as it's more commonly known) and take you out of the corporate environment and into an exciting virtual world built around your companies branding, logo and design.

The projects completed so what now? Rather than just handing over a DVD and letting you figure our what to do with it we'll take the time to discuss how you want to output your production.

One of the first steps we'll take is to ask you how you would like to use your completed product. If it's a commercial and you need assistance in arranging for a fully mastered DigiBeta tape to be sent to the network we can take care of all aspects. If you want to output online, we encode to the most suitable specifications and will even upload it for you, or you may require a 1000 discs duplicating and distrubuting - anything is possible, just enquire through our contact page and we're confident that we can reassure you about the procedure.

disc duplication & printing

Whether it's DVD, BluRay, web distrubution and branding we can assist in developing DVD menus, printing and duplicating as many discs as you required through our own printing facility.

In general most productions that need DVD duplication will require 1000 or less. The cost of outsourcing this can be expensive until you get into the higher numbers, not to mention time consuming having to go through a third party. For batches of 1000 DVD's or less we print and design in house and can deliver within 3 working days. For larger print based jobs we will cover arrangements with one of our known and trusted print houses to insure everything stays within save hands.
